Skin Care. The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is a nifty, hand-held face cleanser that has a gentle vibrating action. The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is easy and gentle to use, and is a reasonably-priced skin care product for women of all ages. The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser should be in every woman’s beauty kit.

Ease of Use of this At-Home Skin Care Device

When you open the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser Packaging, you notice the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser Packaging is neatly packed with a box of cleansing pads for skin cleansing, two extra packages of cleansing pads and a AA battery. The battery compartment cover on this skin care device is easy to open.

The disposable cleansing pad will stick to the head very easily. Then you run the skin cleansing pad under running water to “activate” the cleanser. Basically, getting it wet helps it lather, like any other skin care cleaner.

The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser can also be used in the shower, which is very convenient considering you still need to rinse your face when you’re done cleansing with it.

Effectiveness of this At-Home Skin Care Device

After the first use I noticed that my skin felt softer than if I had just washed it and toned it. The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser claims to clean 10 times deeper than traditional cleaning. This means that it can remove dirt and make up from your pores in a more effective way than normal.

I followed up with my normal toning and moisturizing routine. My face did feel smoother and cleaner after the first few uses.

The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser was also gentle to use.

Drawbacks of this At-Home Skin Care Device

One of the drawbacks to the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is the need to use disposable cleansing pads for skin care. I don’t know if I would use the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser every day for the simple fact that I would be creating more garbage than just using a cleanser and my own hands to clean my face. Granted, the cleansing pads are not very big, but it still seems a bit wasteful.

The other drawback is the price of the skin care cleansing pads themselves. When you first buy the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser it comes with cleansing pads. Neutrogena also offers a coupon on their web site for $3 off the pads.

The last drawback with the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is that I would not exactly call it quiet. Someone nearby in the house may begin to wonder what that vibrating noise is coming from the bathroom.

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser Packaging

The new Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser has a white base with one portion that is in color. Choose from white and blue, white and green, and white and pink. There were very few white and pink boxes stocked at Wal-mart where I got mine. They had mostly green and white in the skin care aisle.

The one misstep that Neutrogena had with this new skin care product was placing a colorful insert inside the box to tell the consumer to got to their web site to get a coupon. This seems like both a waste of paper and a wasted opportunity for the consumer. They could have easily printed a coupon instead and inserted that in the box.

Figuring out their web site is a no-brainer, Neutrogena.com, and they did not really need to waste a piece of glossy full-color printed paper to tell consumers where to go to get the coupon. It reminded me of those companies that email you to let you know they will not be emailing you anymore.

In their favor, the company did keep the box pretty compact.

Price of the At-Home Skin Care Device

The price of the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is pretty reasonably priced at $11. Depending on where you shop, the price may be slightly higher. Your initial purchase of the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser comes with 14 cleansing pads and a double A battery.

The attachment head also needs to be replaced after 30 uses.

Ingredients in the At-Home Skin Care Cleansing Pads

The ingredients in the cleansing pad may help you determine if this product is right for you. It would be more useful if the company made a variety of cleansing pads for different skin care needs.

The ingredients include “Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG 8, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Methyl Gluceth 10 Hydroxypropyl Dimonium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, Menthol, Fragrance.” (Neutrogena)

Because of the Salicylic Acid in this skin care product, this product may not be right for everyone to use every single day.

These skin care ingredients also do not seem as natural or pure as other skin care products in this beauty line.

Alternative Use of the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser

While I like the feel of my skin after using the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser, I also know that the cleansers in the pads that come with it may be too strong for my daily skin regimen.

I did attach a regular round make up remover to the attachment head and I added my normal daily cleaner. The way the attachment head is made, you can pretty much stick any type of round make up or make up remover pad to it, not just the ones made to go with the skin care product.

The makeshift pads with my face cleanser of choice worked fine. This is one way to use the benefits from the vibrating action while still being able to personalize the product for your own skin care routine.

Tips on Using This this At-Home Skin Care Device
