About 3 months ago, I purchased a huge tub of Jergens All-Purpose Face Cream, for under $3. I actually found my Super Wal-Mart receipt and it was $2.74. This is a whopping 15 ounce (425 g) tub. It has a large baby pink screw top, which is the same width as the jar, three and three quarter inches across. The label is dark pink at the bottom, fading to a pale pink at the top. It show a picture of three ladies faces, a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead. I am assuming this is to imply that anyone can use it.

It has Jergens, in white lettering on an oblong of green, in the top right corner. Then below is black lettering ‘All-Purpose Face Cream’. At the bottom, with the darkest pink background, are the words ‘Deep Cleansing, Softening, Moisturizing’.

Upon opening the jar the cream is a very pale pink color. I even thought it was white and the color could be a reflection from the label. When I checked it against the inside of the jar, which is white, it is the palest of pinks. It is a really thick cream, and when you put your fingers into it, to take some out, it leaves a peak. It is just like the mixture for meringues. The cream stays fairly thick when you rub it into your skin. It is suggested that you smooth a generous amount on your face and neck. You can remove it will a tissue or leave it on overnight.

That’s it. This reminds me of the off fashioned cold cream that our mothers/grandmothers would cake on their faces before going to bed.

I use my expensive anti-aging, anti-wrinkle creams at night, but that does get expensive, especially now the economy is so bad. Therefore I am using the Jergens All-Purpose Face Cream, on the nights, when I want the cream to really penetrate my skin. It is thick and greasy, and yes it does look as if my face is wet. With the more expensive products, I use far less but they are gone, in no time at all. This big jar will be with me for months.

I know it will put back moisturize in my face. I only have to take a look at me in the mirror, the nights I use it. It won’t do all the ‘magical’ things, that the other products proclaim they do, but I am not paying for, or expecting that to happen.

Ingredients:

Mineral Oil, Water, Beeswax, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Sodium Borate, Fragrance, Isopropyl, Myristate, DMDM Hydantoin, Red 4.

This product can be used as a cleanser as well, although I haven’t used it for that.
