Making your own face cream is a great way to save money while still having a quality product. You can pinch pennies and still have a product that is superior to any of the expensive creams you buy in the store. Here is a homemade face cream that is especially good for oily to normal skin.

• 4 oz. fresh lavender

• 4 oz. olive oil

• 1 tbsp. beeswax

• 2 tbsp. cocoa butter

• 1 tsp. borax

• 2 tsp. honey

• Jar with a tight fitting lid

Steep the lavender in 1 cup of water for four hours.

Melt the oil and beeswax together in a double boiler.

When the oil and beeswax mixture is completely melted, add the cocoa butter and blend until completely mixed.

Pour the lavender water through cheesecloth to strain.

In another small pot warm the lavender water on low heat.

Slowly stir the borax until completely combined.

Once the borax has been completely dissolved in the water, slowly stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved.

Remove both mixtures from the heat and slowly stir the water mixture into the oil mixture. Beat the resulting mixture until creamy.

Put mixture into jar and place the lid on tightly. This mixture does not need to be refrigerated.
